Good News

We get to stay home a little longer! Jason needs to come up to Seattle for a few meetings this week so Sean and I have extended our flights and we get to enjoy being home with daddy for a few days. We will all be flying back to L.A. on Monday the 17th. I am really happy that Jason will get a chance to enjoy the northwest for a few days too.

So since I have not been posting, I thought I would give you a little something to look at while you wait.
These are some pictures from our trip to the CA coast. On Labor day we headed out to the Pacific Coast Highway and stopped at Malibu beach.
The Pacific Coast Hwy runs along the coast of CA, it is 549 miles of beautiful coast line views.

Since it was Labor day the beaches were crazy, there must have been a million people on the coast that day. When it is 100 degrees in L.A., it is only 80 on the coast, it is really a nice break from the heat, not to mention it is truly beautiful.
Being the super cheapskates that we are, we didn't want to pay for parking, and we wanted to avoid the really packed beaches. Jason used his superior navigation skills to find us a little beach that was almost empty, except for some surfers.

Sean seems to be following in his mom's footsteps, he is a land lover too. I really love looking at the water, and I love being on a boat in the water, but being submerged in the icy pacific ocean...na. Sean was very leery of the water and was very happy just sitting in the sand.

This crazy guy is a whole different story! Jason is a water baby, he jumps in any body of water that crosses his path.

It may be 80 degrees outside, but it is still the pacific ocean, and man it was cold! Jason was like a dolphin, jumping into waves, swimming out and around, diving down, he is crazy.

Yes, that is a kitchen spoon, but don't tell Sean, he thinks it's a shovel.

Little footprints in the sand are so adorable, almost as adorable as sandy baby buns. The larger footprint is mine.

Jason is determined to introduce Sean into the wonderful world of freezing cold water.

Here he is trying to make is escape.

Gone! he ran up the shore and would not go back.

For those of you who have ever tried to change a diaper on a beach you know that sand gets into very bad places and will not be coaxed out. You end up rubbing 60 grit into your baby's bottom trying to get them clean. Jason had a better plan..... look at the death grip Sean has on his arm, he was not happy about this. Jason must have told Sean that he was washing his (Sean's) bum because Sean came running back to me and said "mama, daddy is washing his bum".

This would make me nervous.

During Sean's nap we drove north on the pacific coast hwy, it was a beautiful drive and we ended up just south of Ventura in a little beach town. We decided to spend the rest of the day here. This beach was not crowded because it was very windy and much cooler than the other areas of the coast.

There goes crazy town!

Koo koo!

Jason and Sean had a blast building and destroying sand castles. While they were sitting in this particular spot a big wave came and totally soaked Sean.

It was windy and a pretty cool so Sean still needed some coverage. This is Jason's shirt with a pony tail holder to keep it from dragging.

Boys!

When we get back to L.A., I will resume my daily blogs. Thanks to all of you who take the time to read it!

I used to be like Jason in the water. Loved it. But now I'm old and COLD. We used to love to go clamdigging at 5 am (well I didn't actually like the time)-but point was it was cold - and we would often get hit with waves. Used to think it was great fun! It still looks like fun watching Jason. (:
